PLATE TECTONICS, EARTHQUAKES, AND VOLCANOESDuring the month of February 8th grade scholars are finishing up a unit on the surfaces of Earth... and how the hot magma that flows beneath our crust causes natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
Starting the week of February 8th, scholars will begin a month long preparation for their Science CMT, which is scheduled for March 11th. All 8th grade students are required to take the science CMT. Scores will be released by August 2015. Scholars have decided to participate in a competition with a few other 8th grade classrooms around the district to see who can show the highest test score gains during the 2015 CMT administration. Click here for a score report of Wexler's previous 8th Grade CMT scores and some of the schools that scholars have identified as "challengers" during this year's CMT prep period. |
